Accelerator Control Rod
Author Last Post

Thanks for the info,. Yellow cad. Is going to be tough in my nick of the woods. So I will have to go with yellow nickle, or this new mixture of zinc and nickle, suppose to be as effective as cad. So let’s see.

Should be yellow cadmium. I just took mine apart this week and sent for plating. In getting the old bearing off the end of the rod had a slight mushroom to it so I sanded down to the point where the new bearing would slide easily almost up to the correct final position but left the final mounting point a little snug. I should have it back from the plater next week and will let you know how it goes back together.

I am planning to send the rod (A 10 007 006 23 ) that controls the injection pump and butterfly valve for replating, and need your advise

a) What type of plating is applied, chrome, silver nickle or yellow nickle

b) Do i need to reduce the dia of the rod so that after applying plating I can still slide the Bering over the rod

c) do the bearings need to be sung enough to easily slide over the rod by hand or do they need to be tight enough to need a bearing pusher.

please let me know.
