6.9

Last week when I started my car, the alarming rattle of a cat. added to my 3 steps forward, 2 steps backwards progress. Following the foot steps of a Walker Cal. Cat., I thought I had dodged a bullet. California with it's great "make America/California non-functional campaign" shows that the 6.9 has only 1 cat., now nobody wants to do the job. Any deviation would need to be sorted out with the smog referee. So thankful for the welder " underneath the peppertree" craftsman. I now have what is legal and correct in California. The added bonus...more power and cooler operating temp.
Heavy Green Police presence here un the CA Bay Area but, it looks like Ive found one thats CARB (California emissions) compliant. If anyone else is interested it's the Walker oval shaped "Cal Cat", universal, Part No. 81128.
John,

Just go to a good muffler shop and have them weld in a cat. Most sell magnaflow which is a well known brand. They'll find one rated for a 7 liter engine and put it on. It will probably be a free flow cat and your car should run exactly as it did or better.

Thanks

With best regards

Al

May need some for my 6.9 but must be aftermarket as OEM's are too costly. Any recommendations with brand and part number? Must have the oval shape and CA legal.
