6.9

valve cover gasket
Author Last Post
Those part numbers are for M116 and M117 engines. The right side 6.9 valve cover gaskets are slated for production again. Not sure how long it will be, but we will be getting them again.

I ordered mine here: https://www.mbclassics.de/W108-W109_3

Classic Center has/had the left side in stock.  They were waiting on the right side to reappear in stock.  You may want to check with Tom Hanson first, but I'll add that mbclassics got them here rather quickly.
I don't exactly remember the the latest update but, I know Kip Finch was able to find a pair through Onager MBZ. Their PH# 619-421-3254

Gents,

I am now in need of two 6.9 valve cover gaskets, LH and RH side.

So what are the full complete and correct part numbers for these two gaskets?

I’ve been told that they are:

Left 116-016-11-21

Right 116-016-12-21

But someone here indicated that these numbers are not correct for the Mercedes 6.9 engine.

So I am a bit confused!

And from where can I get them in the US, Europe or elsewhere, now?

Thanks!

These are in the genuine head gasket kits, and were also recently purchased from the Classic Center separately by a fellow enthusiast I believe. I find it hard to believe they would be NLA.

Tim

Provided that the costs of the gaskets+shipping doesn't get exorbitant, I'd be interested. I'd probably want a solid estimate on cost before I would commit, though (sorry. I'm poor).

OK. I'm in for 1 of each side to get the party started.[:p]
Well, if anyone is interested, I will get some made up. I have gone through this exercise before - some ten to twelve years ago, when they were retailing for $A50.00 each from Mercedes. At the time, I also had both exhaust manifold and inlet manifold gaskets made up at greatly reduced cost.

In order to make this a feasible proposition, it will be necessary to make up quantity, otherwise the suppliers (in Australia) will not touch this. I think that we'd need about half a dozen each side and the same quantity would apply to the other gaskets Regards Styria

Bit of a concern that some are NLA...

I knew that. posted the same answer to the same question on w116.org and a fellow in europe is buying it for another chap in the usa.

If that's the only way to get the part, then that is what must be done.

Maybe someone here will volunteer if you ask them.

Rumb, please read the ebay ad carefully next time. They DO NOT ship to the U.S.
Be careful with Autohauz and their gaskets re M100 engines...I have written to them to point out the errors of their ways and they did nothing to correct it.?![V]

Currently, only the left side is available from mercedes. I've been looking for aftermarket ones myself and it seems that neither Elring, Victor Reinz, or any other gasket makers are making them any more. Mercedes has no plans to make them available again, either. The same with 6.9 motor mounts, too. None anywhere to be found, and no one has any plans to offer them any more.
No those numbers are wrong. Will start with 100 and not 116.

Does anyone have any aftermarket sources for 6.9 valve cover gaskets?

Can someone confirm parts numbers
left 116 016 13 21
right 116 016 12 21

Not sure if these are correct.

Thanks again
