I feel the same way about excessive top speed in a vintage 6.3. I've found that the Cooper CS5 Ultra seems to be a good choice, reasonable cheap too.

There are plenty of Asian tire brands which are H rated and have a 96+ load rating in the 215/65/15 tire size, There are even a few XL rated tires which are V rated and very inexpensive.

If I felt that I needed to go faster than 130mph in a 45 year old sedan, I would probably be better served to spend my money at a psychiatrist.

I am driving my 6.9 with Michelin 215/65 R15 on bundts. Fantastic and fair priced at Camskill UK. In my opinion wsw tyres should be used only with hubcaps. For my 6.3 I have W126 steels rims and 15 inch hubcaps but I have not found out decent wsw tyres... my current 14" Maxxis wsw tyres are working quite ok though.

it is difficult finding tires for our 6.3's. I'm not ready to spend XWX money, any other suggestions in the 215/65/15 or similar sized tires?

You can still get the Michelin XWXs from Coker Tire, and at least in the USA the price has come down a bit due to the strong dollar. The other useful option is the Vredestein Sprint Classic.
