Hello folks....I own a green SWB 600 #1108

Pretty well sorted car and was sent back to Mercedes classic in Germany in 1999 to get refurbished.

Every system in the car works flawlessly but just got a new issue. Car sat for about 3 months and now the passenger front window does not stay up.

We press the button for the window to go up. It does so.....but when you release the button it starts going down. It does not go down with gravity but it is being pulled down somehow because it you catch it going down....its going down with so much force that you cannot hold it up.

Does someone have any idea what might be broken. The rest of the hydraulic accessories like trunk, other windows, seat adjustments etc are working fine.

Hello.

There is permanent hydraulic pressure connected to the top of the window piston. This pressure is balanced with pressure from bellow of the piston that is controlled by the windows switch. Your switch is internally leaking to return line and it's not able to hold the pressure in the lower part of the window piston so the upper part will win and force the window down. The switch needs rebuild. Talk to Woerle, Thomas Jäkel or Fuhrmann & Schulze. They all can do the repair. In US there is Martin Werminghausen.

Is there a way to buy a replacement switch instead of a rebuild?

Rebuild it, NOS is not good choice as the seals will be shot anyway. It's daily business for those mentioned in my first response. Clemens Hergeth may get some new but I believe that he is also sending switches for rebuild to Woerle.

window now works.

there is a slight leak in the driver door area now. A few drops accumulate under there over time 😟
