Wanted: Missing Euro Spec Engine
Author Last Post

Thanks Paul !

It is interesting what can happen to a car in the past 50 years or so...

Maybe the original engine is still alive somewhere, who knows ?

109.018.12 1968 Bronze Braun (M100 in good shape)

126.039.1A 1988 Dunkelblau (M117 so a bit slower)

+ A few other MBs used for daily transport

Where your original motor went to is unknown in my registery. So I can't help ....

The new motor came from out an RHD 6.3 in Australia Greenwood WA

109-018-22-004994 (aug 1970) which is far too new for that number and should be around 22-005100 ....

So it seems that motor had several different lives ;-)

I am curious about engine M100 981 12 00 0076 that was originally mounted in my car.

Does anyone know the whereabouts of this engine, and what condition it is in ?

As it seems this engine was replaced at some point in the 1980s by a restored newer engine with the same specs. So instead of #0076 I now have #1909 which is working fine but does not meet the expectation on Matching Numbers.
