New Owner Needs Advice

Anthony is right.  There is a lot of material on this website regarding your "problem".  Use the Search Icon and put in any words or phrase that even resembles an issue you are facing and see what comes up.  Also look at a few of the "sticky" threads at the head of the 6.3 Forum.  Also search in the Fuel management Forum and General Discussion Forum.  You will find that almost anything you can think of will have been covered.  Allow yourself a lot of time to cover it all.

Hi Roland and welcome to the group.
It sounds like you have a good plan to re-commission your 6.3.
There are plenty of threads here on  the forum dealing with freeing stuck racks and elements in the MFIP so please use the search function to find them.
As I recall toluene is a recommended solvent, it can be introduced via the fuel inlet fitting at the front of the pump right on top. Sorry I dont have a pic at hand to post.
That said please do a search of the forum.
I'm sure smarter heads will chime in to help.

300SEL 6.3 #2723, my first classic Benz 3.5 #8659, my second. 2 to go...
Good day TEAM M100!

I am a new owner of a 1969 300 sel 6.3. The car sat since 1990 and I am in the process of addressing items to get the car started. I started with pulling the gas tank. OH MY!!! What a foul stench and clumps. I also removed the short fuel pump and ordered a rebuild kit. I really want to flush the fuel lines and get something into the injection pump so that I can make sure it is free and flushed out.

Can someone please advise how to do this? I will be removing fuel filter but want to know how i can fill the injection pump and with what before i do much else. I want to try to save the pump. Maybe a way to pour something inside the pump/rack area to let it soak, then blow it out. Inlet and outlet line locations?

PLEASE offer any and all help you can. I am a newbie at the 6.3 and really don't want to make a mistake.

Thank you TEAM!
