Hello everyone!

I hope that those of you who were able to make this year's Lodefest had as much fun as I had putting it together!

Now that the event is a memory, it would be great to share some of those memories, don't you think? To help do that, I have started a shared Google photo album. If you want me to add you to the shared album, drop me a note at jim at radiodesign dot com and I'll set up access for you. You can share your photos, look at, and download other peoples' pictures as well.

In addition, some of the photos will likely make their way into the next Lodestar, and some might even wind up in the Star magazine as part of an article for the MBCA!

Drop me a note if you're interested. Thanks!

Best Regards,
Jim

Hello All!

OK, for those who missed the details, the hotel for the occasion is the Weasku Inn. I believe they still have rooms. Info on the hotel is on the M-100 website.

The welcome reception is at my house, a few miles from the Inn, and starts at 6 PM. The address is 3810 Almar Road, in Grants Pass. From the Weasku Inn, drive a little over two miles West until you come to Gordon Way. Turn right onto Gordon Way, and go to the end. At the T intersection, turn left onto Almar Road. The 7th house on the right is 3810, and has a wrought iron fence. If you're early, you can park in the driveway area near the house. A little later, there are three spaces in front to the left of the gate. After that, street parking, sorry to say.

My home number (in case you get lost) is 541-471-two-two-zero-zero. That's the best way to get me when I'm at home. My cell number is 541-226-six-one-zero-one, but I usually don't have that on when I'm home.

I will try to have some info for you at the hotel as well. Looking forward to seeing you all Thursday evening. As I mentioned earlier, the event is being catered by Paisano's of Rogue River. Those of you who drove through here two years ago will remember the great food they served!

See you then!

Best Regards,
Jim

Beecher's 6.3 just got back this morning from its first 280 miles drive after sitting for at least 4 years that I know of -- other than a dash 'buzz' and and some minor irritants to look at, their car will be ready.

mpm
Luis: It is most of the usual suspects. Beechers from Florida will pick up their car from Michael and come. Mostly, however, a West Coast crowd.

Who all is attending the meet? Do we have lots of east coast attendees?
What time and where do we meet for the reception on Thursday? Im guessing the hotel??
Thanks!

Luis
Pick me! Pick me!

How cool would it be to have tons of rubber donut marks in my parking lot at work, eh?

Kip... You're a genius!

Surely, this could be added to the activities list. Think he folks at Weasku Inn would mind us using their parking lot or perhaps your office would be better?

Michael and Clayton:

My wife pointed out that I made our reservation at Weasku Inn for Wednesday, August 29. It is 3 1/2 hours from here to Walnut Grove, so we would not get started from Michael's before noon. I think we will go by way of the East Bay to I-80 and the bypass at Vacaville to I-5. That seems to save us some time. So, we will have early Thursday to relax. We will see you on Thursday.

I love that 'Ronin Flip'. Yes -early Thursday. The nearest Motel is Elk Grove for Wednesday night. Richard and Barbara Beecher will be in the area Wednesday night as well as Chris L. Jack will meet us at the shop Thursday AM -then we will head out.
So glad you chimed in ( Mike) because, I have been frantically working on my sled to make it worthy of a 2K mi journey as a fully functioning vehicle…however ugly cosmetically. I know the caravan is slightly out of whack. I was thinking to leave SD on Wednesday assuming you guys are Thursday bound. Do I have that right? By the way, I have been practicing my "Ronin 270 degree flip" with some success. Just a little timing adjustment with the "D" click and I will have it smoothed out.
Ten days left!

Hello all!

Just a reminder, if you haven't registered for LodeFest, you need to get on it. Also, I am told that the Weasku Inn is still holding rooms for another few days, and will also keep the M-100 rate on a space available basis after the hold is gone, but things will very likely fill up once the hold period is over.

This is shaping up to be a very nice event. For those of you who drove by here two years ago, Paisano's (the little Italian deli in Rogue River where we ate that evening) is handling the reception food, and it will be very spectacular.

The drive to Crater Lake on Friday has been slightly modified, with lunch now at the Prospect Hotel (very near to Crater Lake park) rather than the park facility at Annie Springs. Local MBCA members will tell you from past experience that the Prospect Hotel is a wonderful choice; the food is fantastic. Dinner on Friday will be a German themed buffet at Frau Kemmling's Schoolhaus Brewhaus.

Saturday afternoon will be a car show on the lawn at Troon Winery, the oldest winery in the Applegate Valley. Dinner will also be at Troon, and feature a winemaker's dinner catered by one of the best local chefs in the area.

Sunday, for those who can stay, will be a drive to a yet to be decided destination, but the choices we are working on are all stellar.

If you're on the fence about going to LodeFest this year, allow me the luxury of a "push" in my direction! You won't regret it!

See you soon!

Regards,
Jim

Just booked my room.....now to catch up with Mike, Jack and Kip for the Cali-caravan!
Make sure to post photos of the event (here or on the FB group, either works)! I'm always busy Labor Day weekend, so I can't make it, but I do like seeing that it goes on. :)
