It should be 109 476 03 26. That number applied up to #4506. From #4507, it was 109 476 09 26 but I have it in the back of my mind that the later cars did not have the banjo fitting. Ask Tom when you order because he can look at the hose.

Thanks for the part numbers. Yes, the diaphragm apparently is compressed between the halves of the unit. I will also need to replace all the relevant hoses, including the one with the banjo fitting. May I ask the part number for that as well?

OK, the fuel damper. On the 6.3 there is one at the front of the engine on the inflow side and one at the rear on the return line. The damper is 127 070 11 68 and Tom Hanson had them last November at US$226 list price minus your club discount. Tom also had the diaphragm 127 070 00 52 at US$38.50 list price. The diaphragms fail with age. The spring is 127 993 00 01 and the plug for the spring is 186 300 02 74. I would see little reason to replace the spring and none to replace the plug. There is no separate gasket that I am aware of. The two halves of the damper housing appear to be just bolted together over the diaphragm which I guess acts as a gasket. The original part number for the fuel line seal washers on the inflow and outflow pipes was 636 997 02 44. That may have been updated to a generic crush washer.

If you are getting fuel fumes in the car when driving, always check the two breather hoses on the neck of the fuel filler at the rear of the boot under the fuel filler flap. If they perish or come off the the pipe, fuel fumes will be sucked forwards into the cabin when the car is driven - don't ask me why!

The part I *think* I need appears to be a diaphragm 1270700052, but there is also a spring.

Hi,

I have a slight weep from the fuel regulator. Not even a drip but enough that on a warm day the fumes are intolerable after 30 mins when the car is hot. I presume there is a gasket, but how trick is locating a replacement and fitting it?
