M-100 Oil Caps
Author Last Post
Hi Dan,

I doubt "heavely" if that statement is correct.
In my opinion, that Oilcab was NOT painted silver NOR coated with (s shining) clear paint.
As far as I can see on my unchanged (and untouched) 600, that cab was aluminium without any paint(ing) .... neighter the camcovers were ....

May be Chris could tell us some more details ...

These motors came never like this one from the plant :

According to my Pro, the 6.3 and thus the 600 came with the oil cap painted silver with the Benz clear coat. It is painted exactly the same method as the Bundt aluminum wheels. Always check the cap on Ebay autos. Some will still show some of this paint but in most cases there is no trace. This is a super simple detailing job. You can even buy the Benz silver paint, clear coat, and add it to your own spray can. Such spray cans can be purchased at our local NAPA auto parts store. Details, details.
