Any new information on the dimmer refurbishment? I managed to get my instrument cluster lights working few years back but yesterday when I accidentally touched the dimmer the lights went away and won't come back any more.

On my 6.3 I have soldered a jump wire there and it is at full brightness now.

I've tried turning, tapping, etc. and nothing seems to make it go on. I know the only way to do it right is to remove the instrument cluster and either clean or replace the switch. I just haven't been motivated enough to do it yet.

I'm no expert on 6.9s, but don't they have a rotating dimmer control like the earlier cars? If so, it probably needs a good cleaning. This is a notorious problem on the earlier cars. (Hmm, I just realized what Ali meant by dimmer switch.)

If you aren't constantly impressed with your car, then it needs fixing.

Try twitching with the dimmer switch, sometimes the contacts need cleaning.

Ever since I have had my 6.9 the instrument cluster lights and dash/console lights have not worked. Thursday I took the car out for a spin and when I turned on the lights, suddenly the instrument cluster and dash/console lights came on! It was short lived and went away after I turned the car off, but at least I know they work and the bulbs aren't burnt out.
