# 6395 for sale
Author Last Post
This car has been for sale at least 3-4 years now.  I vaguely remember them asking about 500k originally.   At that time the car appeared to be in need of everything.  It certainly looks much better for the attention given it by Kienle.  The seller mentions an “exterior restoration”.  This car seems to have been in serious neglect for many years.  I certainly don’t know this to be fact but I’d be leery.  I can imagine there is a seriously long list of deferred maintenance and tired systems here.  It’s possible this was all addressed by Kienle but if so why not state everything that was done.  Especially given the asking price.  Also, why ship a car all the way to Germany when the classic center is only 400 miles from SF.  Is the classic center that much more expensive than a high quality restoration shop like Kienle?  I suppose the seller may have tested the European waters with no success.  In any case I would have Micheal Morris do a PPI prior to even considering a bid.  I have no clue what the Steve McQueen factor is worth but so far 300k plus.hasn’t worked.
That car looks sad --it is asking for attention. like a lion in a cage loosing its purpose to live. If they would take a few hundred thousand off, it might get a chance to live again. I recall when it was on ebay for 35k some years back.
